The world is going to celebrate this 21st June as International Day of Yoga. United Nation has declared 21st June as International Day of Yoga. In India, all the IITs and IIITs are celebrating it with full enthusiasm and organizing workshop where a series of programs and lectures along with the practical session will be conducted to promote and explain the common Yoga protocol. Apart from this other Institutes and organizations are also supporting it very actively.
Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi has also circulated the below message in favor of it:
"Yoga is an invaluable gift of ancient Indian tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body, thought and action, restraint and fulfillment, harmony between man and nature and a holistic approach to health and well-being. Yoga is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with ourselves, the world and Nature. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help us to deal with climate change. Let us work towards adopting an International Yoga Day."
The Prime Minister said that the International Day of Yoga is a day linked to good health, and it has become a mass movement. He said that Yoga is not about what one will get, but it is about what one can give up. He said that with zero budgets, Yoga provides health assurance, and does not discriminate between rich and poor.
The Prime Minister called for focus in the next one year, on how to mitigate diabetes through Yoga. He said that to honour of those who are working to popularize Yoga, two awards will be instituted, one at the national level, and the other at the international level.

The Ministry of AYUSH was formed on 9th November 2014 to ensure the optimal development and propagation of AYUSH systems of health care. Earlier it was known as the Department of Indian System of Medicine and Homeopathy (ISM&H) which was created in March 1995.
